Bassem Youssef is a heart-surgeon-turned-comedian that started a YouTube comedy show out of his laundry room in Egypt. The series was an instant sensation and quickly became a TV show. Bassem became known as the “Jon Stewart of the Middle East”. After he was exiled, he moved to the USA and created a TV special with Fusion: Democracy Handbook With Bassem Youssef.
As social media manager for Fusion Comedy, the clips from Democracy Handbook that I optimized received tens of millions of organic video views. Additionally, I wrote for and produced several original segments with Bassem Youssef during the 2016 election. These digital-first pieces were later repackaged as the linear TV special, Muslim Invasion With Bassem Youssef.
